Welcome to ‘Shore Acres’, a sprawling quintessential classic Cape Cod estate with its own oceanfront directly across from the house.
The house itself is fabulous, beautifully restored, gracious & upscale, designer-decorated, wonderfully light, bright, fresh & airy, with a delightful contemporary-classic décor. With 2 kitchens, 2 laundries, 4 large common areas, this house is one of a select group specifically designed for multiple families. The layout uniquely offer large groups the opportunity for both togetherness & privacy. This is a big house on a big piece of property.
The oceanfront is 2.6 acres of mostly meadow with 300’ of oceanfront dunes, bay tidal flats, shore grasses with a short narrow path between the sand & the water, salty air, rosa rugosa blooms and breathtaking 180 degree views of Chatham Harbor, the sand dunes of the Nat’l Seashore’s Outer Beach, and the mighty Atlantic. It is a wonderful broad, wild, raw, naturally-beautiful seascape for lots of fun! Leave the supplied beach chairs, umbrellas, ‘toys’, etc. (see list under Amenities) tucked away in the private dunes during your stay and come & go to the house...no more scheduling, driving & hauling!
If you prefer a grand public ocean beach, seven (!) are located 1/2 to 1-1/2 miles from the property, including beautiful Claflin Landing (1/2 mi) adjacent to world-class Chatham Bars Inn (1/2 mi), renowned Lighthouse & South Beach (1-1/2 mi), and Oyster Pond Beach (Nantucket Sound, 1 mi). Walk/bike/drive less than 1 mile to Chatham Center.
